Event Description:  

Hi YorkU Lions!

Get a head start on your university journey with “Your First Lecture” – a special event designed just for incoming first-year students in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies!

This engaging and interactive two-and-a-half-hour session invites you into a real lecture hall before classes begin, helping ease first-day nerves while equipping you with essential academic tools. You’ll get a taste of university-style learning, build skills like note-taking, comprehension, and self-advocacy, and discover the many campus supports available to help you thrive in your first year. Connect with peers, ask questions, and get familiar with campus life during a guided Campus Walk-and-Talk with upper-year students.

Then, wrap up the day with a relaxed social at the LA&PS Community Hub—freezies and cold treats included! Start strong, feel prepared, and take your first steps into your academic journey at York University.
